is 'spearing' the blade fully into water the correct way? I have always been wondering. Because the current carbon paddles are more 'scoped' then a blade like the old kayak paddles. Does the design change requires a different 'dipping' technique?
It is all just in the mind.

the reason u r splashing can be due to a few reasons. 1 can be tt you r nt 'spearing' the blade in. with the paddle at ard 45 degrees to the water surface, drop the lower arm fast to get a firm, clean catch. 2nd, you may be 'pulling' the paddle even b4 the blade is fully buried. this will cause more splashes.
