TRIVUM and BURNWATER !
« on: June 10, 2010, 21:59 »
Hi guys

Have you all experience your adjustable trivum being loosen after a couple of year of paddling? Many of my friend told me glued one is better.

So anybody can tell me which is better?

As well as , anybody know where can i get the burn water paddle from? Or has it already stopped it's producing? Kinda interested.

Not me.  My screw-connection one is still good.  Why would it loosen?  Have personally never heard of a trivium screw connection loosening.  You should borrow one and see for yourself how the telescopic shaft is connected together.  Hard for such construction to loosen unless you use your paddle for things other than paddling, or there is damage to the screw hold.

Screw is more for people who need to change the length of their paddle quickly to take up different position on the boat or to lend it to someone else.  Opt for the Trivium glue connection if you do not need to change the length of your paddle often.  You still have the option to increase the length in future when you become stronger or take up pacer seat.
It is all just in the mind.

Thanks for sharing your opinion.

However i do see my friend's trivium being loosen up during the mid of paddling.
And heard from my friend that as time goes by the screw won't be that secure anymore.
That is why.

And do you know anybody who carry burnwater in singapore to sell?

I have so far not heard of such issues due to over-use, not even from the few school teams who train and race with the paddles.  You may want to post some photos of the damaged screw connection here or ask your friend to approach the vendor to assess the damage if he is indeed facing this problem. Such defects should have been rectified at an early stage before it got worse.

As for burnwater, i have not seen people using for some time already.  You may want to ask around if any vendors still carries the brand.  I am sure some people will still be using some burnwater from a few years back.  Otherwise you can always approach the original manufacturer and ask if they have a dealer here.
It is all just in the mind.

Hi Guys, Burnwater are back with a new paddle now.  Why not check out their website to find out who their distributor is in Singapore?

On the other hand you might want to consider our latest design paddle, the CD3.  Fully carbon fibre, it's lighter than our previous range, has maximum concavity to help you catch and pull water and has a nice slim blade edge so gives a real clean entry into the water.  You can get more info from our website at http://www.merlingear.com/paddles_cd3.htm

We don't have a distributor in Singapore yet but, we're only in Australia so shipping is reasonable.

Let me know if we can be of service to you.

Kind regards,

John

John, can you verify that you do not have a Singapore distributor?
Merlingearusa.com http://www.merlingearusa.com/contact.htm places Kanoe Sports http://kanoesports.com/ as a Singaprore contact.

Hi,

Kanoe Sports was our distributor but, he hasn't bought any product from us for so long we've removed him from the list.  I'll get our distributor in the US to update their website.

Kind regards,

John

Hi Guys,

I've just chatted with Patrick and we have agreed that Kanoe Sports will continue as the official Merlin distributor for Singapore. We'll be sending Patrick a sample of our new CD3 next week, so you may want to contact him to try it out?  My apologies if I messed you around at all pcgwee.

Kind regards,

John
