Let me clarify somethings first. I'm a rower myself and an observer of this thread as well as the rowing scene. Non-biased opinion here.
What happened during the 5men crew race was that someone from the "white jersey" team had shouted some negative comments to those in the "black jersey" team. This has caused some misunderstandings and miscommunications with the members of the "black jersey" team resulting in an unintended fiasco.
What I've heard from my friend was, some guys who were previously from the "white jersey" team has actually left for the "black jersey" team due to the fact that they were not pleased with certain aspects in the "white jersey" team. Hence they left to join other teams- which teams they decide to join, it doesn't really concern us but I should think that the issue they left behind has sparked off all the unnecessary confrontations. These are merely hearsay so there aren't any concrete evidence so just sharing.
It is apparent that both teams are not exactly the bestest of friends. Not sure to what exactly their problems with each other are but let's just let them settle their differences on their own, shall we? If the physical fight happens infront of us, then we should help. But by opening up this thread and questioning their intentional or unintentional fights, how are we exactly helping them? Sensible, no? Won't it be better to practice our sportsmanship in the waters and not behind the computer bitching like this? Unless... you're from the "white jersey" team or the "black jersey" team?
All the best for upcoming Singapore River Regatta and see you there!
