Singapore took another 5 medals over the weekend in the Junior division including 3 golds!!

Full details attached.

The Philippines kept their crown as sprint champions to win the 200m Open for the second time running and destroyed the pack with a time of 40.0222 - knocking off 2 seconds from their time in Australia 2 years ago. There was a massive 7 seconds difference between 1st and last place, which shows the gap the Pinoys have opened up over the field.

Oh Canada dominated the 500m taking gold in the Mixed and Womens. Their Mixed time was 2:02.424 (9 seconds slower than America who won it in 2007).

Well done to team Singapore!

Congrats to the Singapore team and the Juniors.  Other than a mention in Straits Times sports section, no other media coverage.  Why the lack of support by the media for such a spectacular achievement on an international arena?  Dragonboat not news worthy???  Wakeup SPH and support our sporting achievement!!!!
It is all just in the mind.

actually 联合早报 covered the news also. this makes the 2 major, mainstream newspapers in Singapore covering the event, so I wouldn't say it's a lack of support.

the next best thing is news coverage on TV but to do so, someone has to supply the broadcasters with some footage of the race itself. if anyone has it, perhaps can alert sports@sg for coverage, just as they did for the SDBA-AustCham race.

congrats again to the Singapore NTeam and Juniors. =)
