What is LWK?  ??? I guess those eventually who are adequately qualified, well-informed and have the passion/interest shld lead the association. Where they're from, ie Navy, MOE, Police, private sectors, etc is secondary.  But first, must have the guts to come forward. Pretty much the same for any sports here.

Trivium,

Putrajaya race was poorly organized as suggested by hut hut hut. You are just attributing the event's "success" purely on the facilities built at the race site. Do remember the facilities have nothing to do with the organizers, whether is Penang Dragon Boat Association or Putrajaya itself. While we do not have a world class racing facility like Putrajaya lake, it's definitely no fault of SDBA. It's not right to run SDBA down just because u see pretty facilities in Malaysia that made your jaws drop. Facilities of such scale are direct government initiatives. So if you think you want your voices heard, sound out to our government directly, not SDBA.

There were so much hiccups during the Putrajaya races and u probably didn't notice it as I believe u should have been busy racing. Basically the administration was totally screwed up. Hut hut hut was probably refering to that.

And before we all flame the poor SDBA race officials for being rude and not giving us a fair start, how about we ask ourselves have we been cooperative enough at the starting line. You may be the cooperative one but that doesn't mean the others are. Very often, after we come up from the races we will bitch about how other teams cheated by trying to get a slight rolling start. I seriously do not think the race starters / officials job is that simple as what most in this forum would think. Don't forget SDBA races caters to a lot of events, and that alone will result in very tight racing schedules. And if SDBA do not run that many events and reduce to just a few categories, you guys will bitch again about SDBA for not promoting the sport.

Yes, I'm deliberately defending SDBA simply because I think they have come a long way even though they may make some mistakes here and there. We all do make mistakes. So give and take. Think about how you can contribute constructively and not just posting complaints that will not help much in terms of moving our sport forward.

And lastly, how do we know if your dear friend can do a better job than LWK? If its a joke, I don't think that's funny and its really unneccessary to post publicly like this.

New moon abalone,

I can't help but to agree to you in points that you made are rather valid. However, some points i think you did not consider correctly.

Its true we can't blame SDBA or Putrajaya management for having hiccups here and there during the race or even preparation for the race. I mean , come on, we are all human and human are good at complaining which made Singaporean shine in this context.

I think Trivium is making more of a "joke" comment and take this to your judgemental values. Actually, this is more of a forum rather than a "Feedback box" so i think whichever posts made, its not going to make a difference. In fact, i think its just a portal that dragonboaters come in to "communicate".

Not siding anyone but there are actually people looking at how both good and bad is SDBA
doing his job.

Cheers.
