Hope he is ok now. Frankly speakly it is quite stressful to see those boats coming towards your DB during the race.

indeed. recalled once under the bridge 2 river taxis were heading out, 2 river taxis inbound, and there were at least 6 dragonboats around waiting for lineup. starter had a hard time coordinating to make space for everyone and in fact, he himself on the speedboat was blocking a boat from advancing to the start line and the event was starting soon.

talk about nerve-wrecking...

this stupid accident happened right after not too sure is the PA CDC or inter-Division Race.  There were 2 motorised boats taking pictures as some MP or ministers are in the race. 

after the event was over... n at the finishing line... somehow one of the motorised boat do a quick turn n somehow it knocked off 2 dragon heads off...

it very unnecessary and dangerous as boat can just capsize by its misadventure.

shouldn't someone bring to PUB's attention the danger of competing for waterways in the Singapore River with the busy river taxi traffic?

Back to topic, there was supposed to be some kind of memorial service for our 5 friends during Regatta right. Was it held or did I missed it?

"in memoriam" pictures were put up in front of the safsa tent. some rowers from safsa and mountbatten were also wearing black bands over their left arm on that day. don't recall any service involving the everyone at regatta.

There isn't any. The families of the 5 rowers were pretty upset over this. You can see in Reuben's blog which his father, Uncle Freddie, has been updating with.
