Article about paddling in Sungei Ulu Pandan
by kayakasia.com.
I know Ngee Ann Poly has recently adopted the 2km stretch of the river for conservation purposes. Anyone knows if they have been organising anything there?
I have been wishing for a chance to paddle there. I use to live around the area and my primary school is actually beside the river! Anybody want to organise a trip there?

There you go! the stretch of the river from Google Earth! Paddling in the river sounds interesting. However, is it dirty? I mean when is the best time to be there? My impression of that river is as a big monsoon canal. Anybody got any idea?

I believe there is no croc in Ulu Pandan river, but sure there are fishes and the odd Monitor Lizard. And they tend to be
HUGE!!!!!

hey Nautilus was asking the same question in the other thread. I saw kayak racks as i drove down west coast road across the road bridge over the river. Can they be rented?

Dnt know if SUP has a source ! But it certainly flows to the sea, and the water level is affected by tides as well.
Understand that SCF has started a kayak rental service on the river, with kayaks stored at the Japanese school.
Anyone tried it ?

I heard there is this new sports centre just beside the river at exactly where merman saw the kayaks. I think the sports centre is a collaboration between the Ayer Rajah Constituency and the Japanese School. Meaning its operating already? No news on SCF website leh...

Some photos of Ulu Pandan River as i stroll along one sunny afternoon. How I wish I can launch a kayak there and then.
Shot of the railway bridge.
The river meanders lazily below while the MRT races pass above...
I somehow felt apprehensive that part of the 'wildness' and rustic feel of the stretch of river maybe gone once PUB starts developing it...
