How did everyone do at Pesta Penang? I heard NTU didn't really perform to standard but NJC had quite a good showing. Anyone heard anything?

Did anyone ever realise something abt NJ? If Nassiman don't steer for them they are most likely going to lose. That's how magical a steerer can be. He's the best in Singapore.

yeah i agree, a good coxswain can make a lot of difference with his 'long paddle' behind. ultimately the steering oar is also a paddle. imagine the fish's tail and how it propels the fish forward.

yeah like when i went hangzhou and on a boat in Xi Hu (westlake), the boatman also propel using that kind of long steer oar. If he can move that boat all over Xi Hu in that manner, im sure a super strong cox can help propel the boat in a race.

anyway this is my hangzhou boat man :p he was quite tired after bringing us all over Xi Hu. hehe.

look at his steering oar.
Sleeping is SOOOO my thing...:P

now you see why China is top in paddling sports. They got a whole tradition of man-powered boating as a livelihood, not only as a sport or recreation, plus they got all the water to train in.

Anyway how was Penang Pesta? Anyone went? Share leh, how was the experience?

Hi there. I would like to apologise for the typo error in the article that was posted in myrp website. The necessary amendments will be made. But for your information, the article was posted not by my RP paddlers or anyone related to RP dragonboat. "dboater" is not from RPDB team and i can verify that. So, please Mr. Dboater, kindly remove that post. We would appreciate that. Thank you.

And to all the dragonboat teams that participated at the Penang pesta race, you guys did a wonderful job! Three cheers for Singapore teams!

Cheers,
RPaddler
