Good marketing efforts and that's the standard we will need to bring our sport up one level. I like the event website. Really creates an image for the event.

Bad event idea. Dragontug will simply reinforce on the existing barbaric way of paddling. Obviously the 'muscle' teams will win. You don't need much technique for this.

well, the idea of dragon boat is simply for racing purposes... anything else is just for recreational fun. Fun perhaps, sports wise, it probably won't help. Then again I am a purist. Seems alot like a money making event. Considering the commitment by most teams to master series and 10km challenge, not to mention the preparation trainings for June race, I doubt many teams will participate.

it is good to have pple wanting to make $ from the sports. Y? because then u will create a real sports industry with $ spinning around. Without these pple doing such things full time, do u expect to see such fantastic marketing work? Probably not.

This MUST be a money-making event, there's a company behind it.

anyway, what would scull rowers and a company doing indoor rowing as a sports know about dragonboating? precisely the reason for this quirky idea, but I am it would be a hit among those weekend warrior type corporate teams.
