Since there are some questions on folding kayaks, thought I should start a thread on it. I don't claimed to be an authority on them, just that have been obessed by and paddling one for the past 8 years! So I can give my 2 cents worth !

First off, 3 of the world's top 10 kayak expeditions were done in Klepper folding kayaks !  http://www.paddlermagazine.com/issues/2003_4/article_221.shtml

how long did you need to take to fix up your kayak?
It is all just in the mind.

It depends mainly on the length of kayak. My K-light is 3.9 meters. When I first got it, it took me the whole day and left me frustrated. But once the skin is streched after 1st use, and with practice I can do it in less than 15 mins now. Dis-assembly takes less time, abt 10 mins.

The Feathercraft Khat for example (5.4m) will take around 30 mins. And a long double like Aerius II or Feathercraft K2 takes ard 45 mins.

No part of a folding kayak assembly is forced, everything is slide, click, turn, or pop.
